Joint Pain Clinic

Here at Southdowns Private Healthcare, we understand that suffering from joint pain can be both debilitating and frustrating. Often chances for quick investigation, diagnosis and treatment are missed, leading to further unnecessary pain. We promise to listen to your symptoms, examine you and arrange appropriate tests in a One-Stop visit. Depending on the results we can normally offer definitive treatment or suggest specialist referral. We can help with arthritis, joint pains, back pain, chronic pain, whiplash, in our private private joint pain clinic.

Examples of recent cases are:

Mrs R aged 34 came to see us after she experienced severe pain in her lower back whilst reading sat up in bed and sneezing. She went to her GP who prescribed painkillers, but her symptoms did not improve. After 4 weeks of agony , Mrs R grew frustrated that she could not see a specialist or get a MRI scan to assess the problem. She decided to come and see us at our Friday afternoon clinic. We assessed her and diagnosed a probable slipped disc in her lumbar spine . We arranged for her to be seen that evening by a Spinal Orthopaedic Surgeon, who arranged the MRI for that evening also. The diagnosis was confirmed, and she went onto receive specialist spinal rehabilitation physiotherapy. She is making a good recovery.

Mr N aged 45 developed severe pain in his knee. He had seen his GP several times and was given painkillers for a diagnosis of "wear and tear". He too grew frustrated that he was unable to work or ride his bicycle with his young family for many weeks . He felt that his NHS GP did not have the time to listen as the appointment felt rushed. He decided to see us, and after examination and blood tests we were able to confirm a diagnosis of acute gout affecting his knee. We were able to prescribe strong anti-inflammatory which settled his knee. He is now back to living his life as normal.
